Courtesy of KLIPS and SAYS.my, I was invited by Sheila to watch The Host before everyone else because it was a press screening yo. Best of all, I get to bring a +1, so I went with Aki yesterday to watch the movie at GSC Mid Valley. Nice to meet up with Sheila and Terence. :D Oh, did I mention? Free popcorns and Coke for the press.

Waiting to go in to the hall..
Stole this from Aki's insta :D

If you haven't know yet, this film is adapted from Stephenie Meyer's book, the same author that wrote Twilight. I didn't read the book but halfway through the film, I was like "Oh my gosh. This movie is SO Stephenie Meyer. Two guys liking one girl?". Jeez. :P The movie was OK, I'd rate it 3/5, I might even watch it again if I have nothing to do. Yes, I'm aware that Rotten Tomatoes rated it 3.7/10 but I kinda like it. It's still a better story than Twilight. :P I liked the scenes where Melanie and Wanda (or Wanderer) talks to each other. Ronan, can definitely act better than Kristen Stewart.

I think the main problem that most people would dislike this movie is because there's not enough drama, not enough horror, not sci-fi enough, probably not even fantasy. Enough romance but not as intense (and oh, Malaysia cut 90 percent of the kissing scenes). But if you're just looking for some entertainment, some unintentional laughs, and don't mind some mistakes in the plot and CGI here and there, this film is for you. Let's face it, how many movies out there actually have good storyline with alien invasion in mind? Or everyone is just being critical because it's a Stephenie Meyer's story? Hmm...

Anyway, does the The Host movie poster reminds you of something?

Anyway, if you want to watch it for FREE(!!!) like I did, here's what you need to do! I'd like to introduce KLIPS to you.

What is KLIPS?
KLIPS is Malaysia's online movie community where users connect to rate and review the latest movies for their peers. It is a place to read and hear honest opinions from Malaysians about the movies they are watching.

And what's so cool and unique about KLIPS?
Besides the ability to contribute (add news, images or trailers, rate, review, like or dislike) to movie pages, there isn't any other community out there like KLIPS where Malaysians can regularly win free movie tickets. Malaysians, tell me you LOVE this.

Oh nice! How can users win these free tickets then?
First, look out for movies with the golden "FREE PASSES" label on the site. These are the movies that you will be able to win free tickets to. For example, KLIPS is now giving out movie tickets to watch The Host (HERE). Alternatively, you can follow them on Twitter (@klipsmalaysia) and be notified whenever they have free tickets to give away.

There are two ways to win the free tickets:
(1) Let your friends know that you like a particular movie! Share the movie on your social networks. You earn one chance for every unique visit achieved.
(2) Answer a super quick and easy poll and earn ten chances on the spot.

How are winners chosen?
Users are selected based on a lucky draw system, until all tickets have been given out. In simple terms, the more chances you have in this pool; the more likely are your chances of winning.

How many tickets will each winner get?
Winners will receive at minimum a pair of tickets each.

How you can get on board KLIPS?
What you can do to get started is to hop over to www.klips.my, sign up and you are good to roll! If you happen to want to talk to them about anything related to KLIPS, just send an email at hello@klips.my or tweet them at @klipsmalaysia.
