My holidays have begun, but time will fly as my assignments will be due soon, quizzes coming and midterms and what-not. Sometimes, going to college is fun because I enjoy learning.. but at the same time, I hate it because there's not much flexibility more in terms of timing. :( Everything's kinda rush isn't it. But here comes CNY! I just want to forget everything and enjoy! But. It will also mean regret later?.. -.- I shall spend my holidays WISELY I promise. I promise. This blog will rather be dead. Argh. :( Meanwhile... just keep checking when you're bored. Who knows I might just throw something "interesting" ? I've drafted few posts actually. Klar, till then. Happy CNY :)

This is my first attempt on being a geek. XD These are the changes or differences between Android 2.3.6 and Android 2.3.4, all based on observations on my Samsung Galaxy S II ! Some also contributed by friend, Dawa :D

Day 1 of Sem 3

Last semester of foundation! Cheh wah, super confident I won't be extending sem. Calculated my CGPA today for foundation, and in order to get 6.1/7 I need to get all HDs this semester :( Quite impossibru. Just checked my subject course outline too. Gonna have a 2.5k words group report for human comm. OMG. I hope it turns out well. And as for business, I'll get to run my own business and write a report for that. All these carry good marks. Statistics was dead boring, and the lecturer memang got bad reputation dy. But what to do, can't change class dy. I hope all turns out well. Tuesday is the most dreaded day for this sem. Gah, I went to college for 8am class but class ended after 10 minutes -_-' My next class was 12.30. I managed to survived and rotted for so long. Day was really boring nak mampusssss. Arghh. I hope things turn out more interesting like last semester. Okies. Day ended well, I won a late Christmas present. Feels good :D

Just let me vent out my frustration here. Anger level maximum. Just experience road rage. On the turning out from Tesco, our car didn't stop and went ahead, then a car, WHO SAW US press oil accelerate maximum and behsong cause we went ahead and he had to brake. After that he chased us, and showed middle finger several times while shouting in Malay. So, I'm all fired up it's not even our fault and why the road bully man? So immature for him to show the middle finger and threatening us. So, I just reached out to my phone and want to snap his picture and his vehicle. He was beside us now, and he saw what I was doing. Now, he think I was threatening him. So he took out his phone and tried to snap us. I don't know if he did but I didn't manage to because phone response slow -_- Reason I want to take his picture is to blacklist him of course, and in my mind I was thinking of using the picture for police report. It would be convenient if there's a online site to report on road bullies too bad there's no online portal to report such cases. And also, he shouted MATI KAU. And while he tried to snap our picture, he wasn't really looking infront, THANKFULLY HE DIDNT BANG ANYONE RIGHT? If not, it would be funny. Ya, so he kept following us until we almost reach our destination but he didn't follow us after that. I assume he should be living around Bandar Tasik Selatan. AND ALSO, his wife(a female was beside him, I shall assume is the wife) was looking, innocently but she said nothing, I assume. Walao, should I pity her for such a husband or blame her for not saying anything? I DONT KNOW.

Pray for safety because he might just come around and dig and find us to gangster us THOUGH IT'S NOT EVEN OUR FAULT MAN. Watch out guys. -_- Watch out for cars with WKJ lol coz I googled and found out another car with WKJ carplate is also a road bully -_-

Thanks to people like this, I just feel like being racist. Seriously. BUT, I must (shall) think rationally. Chinese also act the same way, so it just does not justify. But encountering this kinda situation really make people's prejudices increase. Now, I understand why the deep racial tension.

Day 1

How was your NYE? Mine was awesome to the max! I wasn't caught in jam, didn't get packed like sardines with a few hundred or thousand unknown sticky strangers. I was very very near home, in a friend's house together with the whole extended family yet we don't have any blood relations :)

There was turkey, pizzas, chicken pies. So Western-like? Don't worry we also had mihun and other good food :P There were wine and beer, but no one was drunk, maybe the hyperactive kids perhaps? Also, my first time really drinking beer and I took hours to finish 1/3 of a bottle. Total fail lol.

We just enjoyed each other's company, eat away, laugh at each other silliness during pictionary (again! we're playing this game almost more than once every week for about 1 month, but still not bored of it XD) and played firecrackers O_O

I just love this family of God.

Of course, again, we've come to the end of the year. December seems to be the month full of thoughts and reflection, but heck shouldn't we be doing this every day?! Reminisce, is the favourite word for the month, I tell ya. 2011 has been eventful, so quickly time has passed, right, as always. And soo many things happened that I can't even recalled properly what happened when; I think I really need to start writing a journal on physical book.

I think I've said this on my blog: that I have something for dates, but this year onwards, I haven't been practicing memory on remembering special dates. Perhaps, nothing is too "special" to be remembered anymore. Perhaps.

So last year, I wrote more than a thousand words in draft before I was in Korea, I am now drafting this post, a few days before the last day of 2011. Was just spending some time reading the post, and my, haha I can't remember what I wrote.

2010 was a blessed year. 2011 is even greater. If you want me to list down every single big and small surprises I've encountered this year, this posts will be too long for anyone to read..Though I actually made a list myself to keep track of whatever things I've gotten this year. Ahem.. From getting free "rubbish bag" (as deemed by my sister -.-) to a brand new spanking awesome phone, I think it's been an awesome thrill ride this whole year as people started called me - contest freak. But what they don't know is, I'm not even the freak here :P Along the way of joining contests, I've made friends of similar interest (you know what interest is this XD) and they've pulled me deeper into joining all these unlimited contests, especially online. Call it peer pressure :/ But I guess the reward behind all these contests is that the thrill of knowing like HOMG I WON IT! YESH! I ROCK :P or.. Okay, I didn't I'm not creative enough, gotta improve more. T_T Hahaha, of course it brings great satisfaction to know you've won something. Who doesn't like being the first? I like it. And even I don't emerge as the first, I also tumpang gembira with those who did.

Nyam. So I just got my results yesterday (it's 29th as I'm writing this). Results were, how to say, unexpected? I took Accounting and Psychology as elective last semester, and the verdict was I got a Credit for both electives. And the core subjects? I got Distinction for both CTS and Advanced English. What I didn't expect was getting a D for the 2 subjects as seniors have always lamented (accurate usage or not? haha) that the subjects are one of the hardests around in foundation. My target was achieving a 3Ds this semester, but didn't make it. What was even funnier is because I targetted a HD for Accounting because my sister seriously managed to convinced me Accounting was dead easy and I believed her. And only to my horror, I wasn't able to really cope well with the speed of the lectures, and kaboom, I only managed a C. So these incidents have convinced me, don't believe what people say! Lol. Haha, I think the lesson is that, my capabilities differs with others, so if others do well does not necessarily means I will do well also, vice versa. As for Psychology.. I think I gave it away during my finals cause I answered the short questions wrongly... And not that I don't know the right answer, I did. But I overthink and confused myself -_- and wrote another answer instead of the right one. So there, another lesson to learn. Next semester, do not overthink!

Semester 2 was really one hectic semester. If you've been following my blog, you'll notice the lack of updates between the 4 months :P Coz I was really busy. I've had quizzes and presentations back to back. I enjoyed my classes, particularly Psychology because I like the lecturer :P She gave a me a good first impression; she remembered most of the students' names at the end of the 2nd class and I have great respect for people that remember names. Her classes were interesting (mostly because the subject is also interesting I guess?) and she was young! LOL :D And not to forget she told us some of her stories as to help us relate better.. Yah. Other lecturers were also good for this sem, I thank God for them. Also, I just really, really want to thank God I did fairly well for my presentations, especially for my CTS one. And also, thank God I did well for my A. English research paper that really helped me boost up my marks. I think it's great to be deemed as "good" once again, since I didn't perform well academically in form4 or form5. Yes, I think I sound quite vain up to this point of this post, but these are just my thoughts. And yes, I take pride for giving my best and able to get some results..why should I practice false humility? I just feel really happy for getting to study what I like to study. And being able to excel in it. Why shouldn't I be proud and happy? You should too you know.

College have forced me to work in groups, which I really dislike because it's hard to coordinate within a group, even with little people. This is especially true when you have to work with strangers, or unfamiliar friends. And the worst is when the expectation is not met, and group does not perform well, eventually pulling the whole group altogether. I think it was a very frustrating period of time, when work is not done yet there are no responses, and I feel anxious for my groupmates if not for myself. My aim is that I want to do well, and by all means, excel if I can. A mediocre would only wish for a pass, and put no effort in it. And I don't want to be a mediocre, and I can tell you that there's a load of mediocre in college..well, at least this is what I see so far. My point is, if you want to be a mediocre, go ahead, but don't drag others down. And I won't force my own aims on others, but I hoped that as a group member, every member would at least feel the obligation as part of the group and contribute their BEST.

Please, don't mistake me as a overambitious person that tries to be a high achiever, and a snobbish slob. I know I really sound very self absorbed in this post. Lol. I know many people who have said that I stingy in teaching others. Well, let me tell you it's not that I kedekut ilmu. I just don't want to teach people the wrong things, and then blame me after that.. and also I'm not a good teacher.. Think, before you say. I've helped the most I can especially during the A. English research paper. I've tried to help friends as much as I can, but well not everyone is appreciate is it? Just give and take. This is life. Well, all in all, I just want to be better than what I was in form4 and form5. I have to admit, I feel like a loser most of the times when I stared at my awful results in that 2 years. I feel that I've given myself enough excuses and I want to do well in college (honestly it's to make up for that 2 years, hahaha), especially when I'm given the chance to study whatever I want. I really appreciate my parents' understanding, especially my mother..for giving me the freewill..

Okay, enough about college :) Let's talk about... what? I'm not sure. There's just too many to talk about. What you expect? 365 days yo! So many events this year. Hmm.. oh yes, I guess I'm back being a coke collector after a hiatus :)

What else? Hmm, oh yes, I finally got my dream come true. Mummy bought me a DSLR :) I'm still owing her the money. I actually want to buy it myself, but because there were some complications.. Anyway, I love having this DSLR it produces pretty pictures without so much effort :P But there must be more effort to play around with aperture, shutter speed, ISO and all..to create more effects and better picture frames...Blablabla..

This is also the year I've learnt to drive and drove and will drive. It's scary on the road, and I ain't confident with my driving, I'm still a noob driver. Gah, I hope things will go better. On the road, AND in parking spaces...

Not sure what else..cause other stuffs are too personal to be revealed here :O

As for year 2012, I've never been a person who set resolutions cause I won't follow them -.- Without a plan, resolutions means nothing. So, I've got nothing more to say. But would like to know if you have any resolutions..? And what would you like to see more on this blog. Let me know.

Although no one said it directly to me, but this is what I think of myself. T.T If I ever get an iPhone 4S, Siri would be my only friend. Only friend because I'd be too obsessed talking to Siri. Why? Because when I ask Siri this question.. :

Niahahaha. Humble virtual assistant AKA my personal slave. I like that idea :D Certainly Siri is my best companion who would never refuse what I say. It's like me as Godfather saying : I'll make you an offer (commands) you cannot refuse, and Siri says to me : I cannot refuse you Master. I love it~~~ :D

And .. what about DiGi? DiGi is my best companion too. Because DiGi provides me with data plans that allows me to access Siri.

KFC = Kupon Free Cancel ?

Consumers are raging because of what happened yesterday. A small mistake by KFC Malaysia have cost them to face their branding humiliation, yet again. The first was when a video of a KFC staff playing in the kitchen went viral over the internet (I think you could google it up if you wanna watch it). Consumers were all raging because the act was really inappropriate and disgusting :/

IF you haven't know it yet, yesterday KFC released a KFC voucher that allows consumers to claim a free double zinger burger set with any purchase and it is valid up to a certain date - January 15th 2012. At first I was thinking, wah, how generous of KFC! Many friends and people went to "test water" to see if the voucher was valid, turns out to be true. But confusion among the outlets had allowed many people to claim the set for FREE without any purchase at all. Some bought just their drinks and get their double zinger burger set. Awesome deal, no?

But the problem came when KFC realized their mistake (too awesome deal and they are not making profit I supposed?) and several hours later, they removed the voucher and said that it was "out of stock". So, this left consumers raging. Some angry cause they tipu la, cakap no stock but still selling :/ Others plain angry cuz they missed out at this awesome deal XD. Saja tamak.

My take on this issue is, KFC never improved, I wanna say padan muka to them but I also feel sorry. I've always been a fan of KFC since young, I love their product but yet how their management works really sucks. If you go to their KFC page now, you'll see great sarcasms from their side when replying comments. Like I always say, Malaysians really fail in terms of service. -_-'

KFC really should sort out their management problems and then improve their marketing. Their marketing sucks to the core. They have breakfast menus but KFC only opens at 11am at certain outlets -_-' They have lunch sets but raised the normal price. Snack plate hiked up to RM11.90 from RM7.90. They say SNAX card is discontinued yet some outlets still accepts them, and there's no clear clarification from their side. Omai, I can go on complaining about their service you know. They should just suck it up, say that they just wanna discontinue the voucher, afterall it's all their rights to do so; instead of saying "out of stock", "didn't expect such overwhelming responses", they should just say they made a mistake -_- OBVIOUSLY THEY DID. Mana got such a good deal one?!

Also, past bad experiences with workers in KFC left me raging too :P and when it comes to complain, they never bothered my emails either! And I've sent 3 emails to them -.-'' So nevermind, forget it. Not that I boycott them, but I really hope they improve their management -_-'

Food: Groupon: Tony Roma's at Jalan Yap Kwan Seng

Yesh! Makan post again. I just love to share food pictures, make you all jealous and hungry. Muahahaha. Yes, finally, my external harddisk cooperated with the laptop for AWHILE, sempat aku upload pictures before it beeped again :( I'm praying hard it will get well argh.

Anyhows, this was my first time at Tony Roma's. I've never eaten Tony Roma's in my life before. Yes, I'm sad :P Fortunately, Groupon had about 2-3 deals (I think) previously, so my family got the chance to try :D We just love discounts. Good food at cheap price! I LOVE.

Oh ya, reason why we went to Jalan Yap Kwan Seng's outlet is because the deal was only available here or Mont Kiara, which was obviously further away from where I stay.

So anyway, the place was not crowded, we saw many families coming in holding a piece of paper, assuming of course it's the groupon voucher. Hehehe. Place was nice, sleepy lightings as usual but good ambiance.

Mum actually bought two deals, ohoho. So there's more options on what we can eat. So in the end, we had one of each type. Pictures coming up! Prepare to salivate. Oh, see Ruh's bored face there? Ngehehee.

Food came with soup too :D I forgot what soup is this T_T but it's nice :D

POTATO SOUP. I told you I love anything with potatoes didn't I? Needless to say, I love it ^_^

Complimentary bread with garlic. Alamak, the garlic not strong enough. :P But the bread's warm, so it's nice. Unlike a lot of other restaurants that serves cold bread -_-' Oh btw, look at the muka bajet.

This, is Bountiful Beef Ribs - Roma Rack. This is good. This is awesome. This is marvelous. This is enchanting. Okay, I really can't find the suitable adjective to describe it but it is THAT good. I think this is my first time, or my first few times having ribs. With BBQ sauce or honey, I think this has become my favourite food now. Thinking of it also makes me salivate :( Oh, this deal was originally RM 77.50 but mum got it for RM 38 from Groupon. OHOHO.

Mojo Chicken. Original price was RM 58.90, deal was for RM 25.20. Good deal good deal, cause the portion was big, and there was rice. Make you super full. This was good also. :D Tender chicken, enough marination, and oh! Broccolis, are my favourite :D

Grilled Salmon. The value for this is the same with Mojo Chicken, same deal. I love salmon to the max, but after it's grilled and no longer raw, somehow I don't really fancy it as much as when it is still raw. Ohoho. With rice also! Eek. Make you super full again.

Beef Short Ribs. Same deal with the Bountiful Beef Ribs as it is as good! Already with gravy. Yum Yum Yum. But still, the winner for all the dish would be the bountiful beef ribs ^_^

My sister say actually there's four choices of their famous sauce but for our table, we got 1 honey, 1 BBQ and 2 red hot chilli sauce. :3 But it was enough to satisfy us because the honey and BBQ was really good.

One thing that Tony Roma's could improve is that, the cloth stinked ._. LOL. It had some kind of smell, which I cannot explain but it was unpleasant. And please, don't mistake me as going around sniffing people's cloth ok. It's because it was used to wipe our mouth. :P

Finally, drink a lot a lot of water, because it's free :P And it's good for health.

Familiarity

Sometimes, we get so used to something because we do it so often that is gets so familiar. But does familiarity breeds contempt? I know how things can go very routine-ish and you get bored because as humans, don't we just like a change? A holiday escapade is always nice because there's a change in environment. But coming back to my question, does familiarity really breeds contempt?

I think not. I think I've played so many times of pictionary and charades over the past few years with the same group of people on the same occassions - usually retreats. And at some point of time, we even can guess the answer even before the person starts drawing/acting. It was until that extent where we became sooo familiar with the game.

But, it was still fun :D I guess it's not about the subject in the things we do, it's our attitude. In my time of playing pictionary and charades, it was pure joy and fun with close friends though throughout the time of the game, we may have some frustrations over some friend who are not really good at acting/drawing/guessing :P

Our attitude always determines on how we respond to things because attitudes is the indicator for expectations. Different expectations, different attitudes. Different attitude, different results. Even with people, how can people date since their teens or 20s and get married and spend the rest of their life together? Won't they get bored? Familiarity breeds contempt? I guess they have set their expectations from the very beginning, to grow old together with that one person in their life that they have committed to, at the altar.

This post is inspired after a class in CTS (Critical Thinking Skills).

Taxi drivers are supposed to be people in the service line, bringing people from one place to another. It's a profession. But no, generally, Malaysian taxi drivers knows nothing about this word: service.

Here are top 6 reasons why Malaysian taxi drivers are disliked, or even hated.

#6 - Y U NO TAKE CARE OF YOUR IMAGE

If I've not mistaken taxi drivers are supposed to wear their uniforms, in which the taxi drivers looks so messy because it's not tucked in, and it is creased, plus their hair looked as if it's not combed : bad impression.

#4 - Dirty taxis

Dirty taxis, messy taxis and the worst, smelly taxis. Smelly because the whole taxi actually smell like I'm like an ashtray. -_-' Just overall, bad maintenance of the taxi.

#3 - "Sorry cik/encik, I dunu where"

They don't know where you want to head to. Ironically, it is actually their job, their profession and therefore they should know. But nope, they don't. And most of the time they will even ask you to show the way. It's like the chef in a restaurant asking you to show him/her how to cook.

#2 - "Sorry, jam lah!"

You need to tell them your location and ask them first before you sit in their taxi. They can refuse their service because it's inconvenient for them, due to the jam. The heck? Seriously, uncle?!

#1 - "RM30. Takde meter sini"

How many times were you ticked off and ripped off by taxi drivers who refused to use the meter? Ridiculously and ironically, yet again, although there's a big sign on their taxi saying "NO BARGAIN" and "taxi bermeter", they actually set a price already for your trip, regardless of place. -_-''

There are more reasons. Driving recklessly, what? I personally dislike taxi drivers because of my own experience on the road. They really do a lot of "funny" stuffs that can really drive people up the wall you see.

Of course, this does not apply to ALL. I'm speaking of a general case. I do know of a few taxi drivers that are actually good taxi drivers.

Food: Groupon: Manhattan Fish Market, Mid Valley Megamall

Way overdue that I even forgot when I made this visit. Groupon had a few good deals with Manhattan Fish Market back to back, a few months ago. This is one of the few deals my mum bought :D Totally worth it.

Can be used in all outlets nationwide except one or two, I forgot you see :P But anyhows we went to the Mid Valley outlet for dinner and voila when we were there, there was a queue already. And, of course, everyone was holding a piece of paper *Groupon vouchers*

But it was okay, didn't need to wait for a few hours or anything :S But I must say, their service is rather slow :( And this always happens.

Not my first time eating Manhattan Fish Market, not a luxurious food or anything also :P But food at discounted price is what everyone loves isn't it?

I really didn't notice that Manhattan Fish Market had so many decos on their wall until I started snapping pictures around. :P I was still testing out my camera you see. Ohoho. One of the first thousand pictures that I took perhaps? To date, I've taken up to about three thousand pictures LOL :P Wokie time to salivate!

Well, food is never disappointing. Still up to standard. Everything was fried though, so get some sky juice peepos. :P It's free hehe, and healthy. And notice one small brocolli in the middle? HAHAHA. One thing they could improve, at least for this outlet is that their should be quicker in their service. And give more mayonnaise! I almost died waiting for them to get me the mayo :/

U-turn

If there was one thing you can undo in your life what is it? Just a random thought. Over the past few weeks, I have been pretty busy with college and will be busy for the next few weeks. And in all this business, it's easy that we just lived by the day, worry about tomorrow but our living is just mere existence. Could it be, than we were meant for more? Obviously yes. But I don't see that coming so far..

But I was taken aback when I got to know how God had put people into such difficult situations to really change them inside out, remove all kinds of stubbornness and eventually, they became happier. I guess sometimes we all just need a tight slap on the face before we realize what's more important to use, and we need God to interfere in that sense. Really, I am so amazed by the works of His hands. And even as I look back, perhaps what happened last year did not make any sense but it made perfect sense now. That God sees we don't find happiness in the things that are happening and we strive to make things better. God will put us in a more difficult situation where He would pluck us out and we give up finally, not being stubborn anymore.

I guess without God we can never never go far..

PPSMI

I am. So frustrated. About this issue. I don't know why. Just feel very angry about people's remarks. Let me just state my stand. I am FOR PPSMI. Several arguments from people who are against PPSMI for example, saying that it is unfeasible and there are fundamental issues that should be addressed first. Wow. Big words. I applaud thee.

But then, asyik asyik je kata unfeasible. I ask what is unfeasible about that issue, no answer. Nothing is undo-able. If you argue that output is less than input, just remember why PPSMI is not working. The idea behind PPSMI is workable with effort. But as our lovely DPM said, there are lack of teachers that are capable. But instead of addressing this issue and properly equipping teachers, best way is to abolish PPSMI? And don't get me to start talking about GSTT (guru sandaran tak terlatih). You have all sorts of random people coming in as teachers without training (TAK TERLATIH) and you expect up to par results from students? I have a teacher who is a sidekick from puteri gunung ledang teaching me physics back in form 4. All he does is entertaining more than teaching. What crap is that? Things don't work that way mate. You want better output? Give better teachers. You don't expect getting excellent results if the effort is zero. And don't start BSing about the money that is allocated for education is darn high but no results are shown. Allocating money is one thing, implementing the system properly is another thing.

Abolishing PPSMI is only a step backward because it's not like the ed system will be changed looking at the current political scene where everything under the sun is manipulated. Also, denial because you're not fixing the problem simply abandoning it. Why I say a step backward is because you're reverting back to what was originally done. If you come out with something better than PPSMI, I am all for it. But nothing is being done but just reversion. Thus, isn't it a step backward? And this is no fallacy. So think for yourself.

Fundamental issues like fixing ed system? Definitely. I agree on that. That is why PPSMI is the first step towards a change. Do you expect the MOE to immediately change the whole system just like that? They've been talking about changing the system for donkey years. Always saying don't want so exam oriented and stuff. Please, talks are just talks so far. Things will only change if everything is free from personal and political agenda. For now, I don't see a matter why PPSMI should be discontinued and "fix the fundamental issues first" and don't start saying if "basic also cannot. blablabbla" because it's invalid. There must be steps taken for such big issues. And if you say it's not with PPSMI, then come out with something new. Not just reversion.

EXPANDING DISPARITY is also another argument. I know where you're coming from. Rural vs urban. So, if a student cannot progress together, everyone have to be stationary with that person. Everyone deserve the chance to advance. Doesn't mean if I can't move forward that makes others stuck with me. Should urban people "suffer" together with the rural if they "cannot keep up"? I cannot blame someone who is better than me because he/she is capable. What I can do is to push further by seeking proper assistance. We can only advance (PROGRESSIVELY, may I emphasize on this) if there is competition. Disagree? Then enlightened me. And don't you forget, people living in the urban now are from rural areas previously. What gives them the breakthrough? Change. Of mindset and willpower.

Upholding Malay language as lingua franca is also another argument. I am a true Malaysian and I believe that every Malaysian SHOULD KNOW how to speak Malay regardless of race. That's why we learn BM since young. That's why we learn sejarah in BM. No issues on that. But PPSMI is the conduct of the class - learning and teaching in English. Everything in higher ed is conducted in English. You see what I mean? I don't think PPSMI is primarily for learning English, rather making the class easier to grasp concepts and ideas as everything is taught in English later. You also converse in English internationally, or research are conducted in English. You see how important is English in Maths and Science.

THEN, we have those people who argue that those countries that uses their mother tongue proof to perform better than those using in English, FOR EXAMPLE our dear Japan. Or Shanghai-China, Finland, Korea amongst the other famous countries. MIND YOU, my friend, most of these countries have one common mother tongue that EVERY SINGLE CITIZEN speaks. One common language, yes, we do have a common language and is our national language which is Malay, but tell me really, how many Malaysians are really proficient in speaking Malay, even for the Malay themselves? The root problem for this common language problem is indeed, our education system and this issue MUST be addressed too. Coming back to the "Japan/Korea/Shanghai-China can advance even without English" just remember, they are far more advanced than Malaysia and have a longggggggggg history as a country, longer civilization even. IF YOU WANNA COMPARE, just wait till Malaysia achieved such equal status, then I will keep my mouth shut, if not, you should. Don't compare apple with orange.

Another kind of people who are against PPSMI are those who fail to understand the importance of PPSMI. They only see that they (or their children etc) are unable to do well with PPSMI and thus blamed the system. I, however, think it's all about arrogance and narrow-mindedness. Have they really look into why people have failed during the implementation of PPSMI? Could it be stubbornness because they are unwilling to change? Change is needed, especially in science. If everything is constant, then there's no science today.

Don't gamble the future of my siblings and the future generation. Honestly, you can see who are the ones for and against PPSMI. I can tell you honestly, people from the urban will NOT lose out, but obviously those living in the rural area would. And you probably know what I mean.

I end with a note I written earlier this year,

Memang kita sedar, kita perlu memartabatkan bahasa kebangsaan kita. Namun, sebagai rakyat kita prihatin tentang masa depan adik-adik / anak-anak kita yang akan menghadapi pelbagai cabaran yang boleh diatasi (ataupun dikurangkan) sekiranya menggunakan Bahasa Inggeris sebagai medium pengajaran dan pembelajaran. Sekiranya anda pernah merujuk kepada sebarang kosa kata yang terdapat dalam buku rujukan, anda akan mendapati bahawa informasi yang disediakan adalah sangat cetek. Contohnya dalam buku teks Matematik, 'locus' dalam Bahasa Inggeris yang diterjemahkan ke Bahasa Melayu ialah 'lokus'. Saya tidak tahu tentang betapa banyak kos yang telah dibelanjakan untuk menterjemahkan perkataan-perkataan saintifik dalam bahasa Inggeris kepada bahasa Melayu namun, apa yang saya lihat adalah kebanyakan penterjemahan yang telah dilakukan hanyalah seperti dari segi ejaan sahaja. Sekiranya PPSMI terus dijalankan, kita tidak perlu membelanjakan wang lagi bagi menterjemah dan membuat kajian dari asasnya kerana kita boleh mengikuti dan meneruskan kajian daripada perkembangan negara-negara lain. Mengapakah masa dan wang telah dibazirkan semata-mata kita hendak memartabatkan bahasa Melayu dalam Sains dan Matematik sahaja? Terdapat pelbagai langkah yang telah diambil untuk memartabatkan bahasa. Saya memang setuju bahawa penggunaan bahasa Melayu bukan penyebab utama kegagalan sesetengah pihak untuk menggunakan bahasa Inggeris kerana dalam konteks PPSMI, program ini merujuk kepada P&P dalam subjek Sains dan Matematik dan bukannya Bahasa Malaysia ataupun Bahasa Inggeris. Apa yang dipersoalkan ialah keberkesanan dan kelebihan penggunaan Bahasa Melayu ataupun Inggeris bagi memajukan negara dan bukannya tentang penggunaan bahasa Melayu/Inggeris dalam kehidupan seharian. Sebagai rakyat Malaysia, saya memang setuju dan menyokong tentang kepentingan untuk berbahasa dalam bahasa kebangsaan kita. Namun, kita tidak dapat menafikan kepentingan bahasa Inggeris dalam peringkat global dan kita juga tidak harus menggadaikan masa depan generasi orang muda kini semata-mata untuk menjaga air muka kita sendiri.

Embracing national language is a must for every Malaysia, but I am in support of PPSMI as a first step for ed change, and if not PPSMI, a better policy that will enable changes. In mindset, willpower and lifestyle.

My Happiest Moment

Have you ever wondered, what if, just what if, (touch wood) you didn't know it's gonna be your last day on Earth, and you just have a lil time more to do all the things that you wanted, what would you do? And as you reflect upon your life, what is it that make you happiest - ever?

It dawned on me that life is short and unexpected I want to do the things I like and enjoy and I've enjoyed some happy moments in my life. Of course, memories are frail and sometimes we tend to forget what we experienced. That's why photographs are really handy to remind us of our happy moments, and that's also the very reason I love photography =).

Winter and touching snow for the very first time in my life, in Korea! It was one of the happy moments of my life as it was one of the best experience in my life. I had a great time there =)

Being able to Sony TX5 with friends event courtesy of Nuffnang was also one of the happy moments in life. :] I seldom go to this kinda events to meet people and stuff, but it was fun especially of the thrill of being in competition. And being able to see (didn't dare to approach XD) people like Timothy Tiah and Audrey in person was awesome :D Thus, one of the happy moments.

Or could it be getting results that I won something that defined my happiest moment ? Nope, never. It's fun getting the news you won something and getting something in return of your hardwork. That thrill of receiving the good news and telling everyone "ZOMG I WON. ZOMG I CANT BELIEVE IT. ZOMG ZOMG ZOMG". That feeling? Freaking awesome I tell you. But, nothing beats the happiest moment in my life..

Celebrating my grandmother's birthday this year has been the most amazing time of my life. And with no doubts, this is actually my happiest moment in my life. I always believed that without my family, I won't be who I am today. I love my family to bits. I think it's a great joy to be able to see three generations coming together and celebrate this occasion together.

We're not really celebrating longevity but rather this joyous occasion that hey, my grandmother had lived this long in raising her children and being able to see her children and grandchildren living their own lives and dreams. But we never forget how much she had sacrificed for all of us.

Opportunities like this don't always come. You gotta appreciate those who are in front of your eyes because you wouldn't know when will circumstances hit us; and then there will be no more chance to celebrate any happy occasions together. Value your family because no one could ever replace them as people always say, blood is thicker than water. Air yang dicincang tidak akan putus =)

You know how the HAPPY(s) go into celebrations? Like Happy Birthday, Happy New Year, Happy Valentines. Happy Happy Happy. And who do you celebrate all these Happy(s) with? Your loved ones, your family. =)

Someday sometime, I can show my kids that I have a happy family, a happy extended family too. I even have proof: showing them this picture. That's why I believe that happy photography is so important.

And guess who is going along this line of Happy Photography? :) If you haven't guess it, it's Olympus, mate!

I'd love to continue my happy photography and continue to preserve memories so that even at my old age next time, I will have something to remind me of all the happy things that had happened and I lived with no regrets =)

Digi Pitbull – I Like

Ever since I got my DSLR back in August, I've been practicing a lot, trying to learn new stuffs and what not. :] Haven't got much chance to shoot outdoor photography though. Will be waiting for that chance. And looks like the chance is coming..

YES! Pitbull is coming to Malaysia this December! Surf Beach at Sunway Lagoon! Outdoor photography it is :D Woohoo. And the best part? Digi is giving out an official photographer pass to the concert! ZOMG. That is like the best ever thing that happens if I got it!

And WHY should Digi give me the pass? Simply cause I love photography and I believe passion is the thing that matters. Capturing the best moments in life is my passion :)

Hey! October hasn't been very kind to me from the start. Just finish midterms this week and I finished my research paper within this two days. Felt very relieved. Remember this? :) Yes, to those who don't know yet. It's no longer a surprise anymore. Yes! It's a Samsung Galaxy SII inside :D And how I got it? :P

Yahoo! It's real it's real. When I got the news, was a bit skeptical. Is it true? Is it me? :) Yes it is. Can't tell you how many happy I was, especially I didn't expected this to come in my way :) All the more, I didn't thought of changing my phone even though my phone was having a serious dead pixels problem but I managed to endure using it for 9 months. Lols. :D

Inside the DHL box. Taadaaa! :) First look. Was so excited when opening it. There's a lot those plastics of bubbles also. Very nice to pop pop pop. Hohoho.

Befrienders - Social Good 2.0

Prior to my previous blog post, I mentioned a little about the Befrienders. You probably have heard of them over the radio but the radio might have been too fast, and you might not catch the message behind what was aired. So, actually, as I said in the last blogpost, there's a campaign about Befrienders on SAYS.my (link) and you guys should totally S&S (spread and share) it.

Befrienders is an NGO that offers service 24/7 to whoever that needs them regardless of your status in life. No financial help offered but they offer a greater help - emotionally support. I mean, at a certain point of time in life, everyone would be down, not our choice though. And if you didn't know, everyone actually goes through depression in their life, just depending on what stage of depression. O: I also went depressed without me realizing. I think with the existence of Befrienders, it's just appropriate and relevant because there's this group of people who are always there, always ready to give their ears to you.

There are many issues in life that is taboo in Malaysia. The issues that gives you "THE STARE" when you talk about it. Especially in our culture, BGR is a big no-no for a teen and parents don't really talk to children about it. That's just one of the examples of the many issues that we face in life. We may be faced with dilemma, and friends are not the best people to go to. Perhaps by talking with the Befrienders, we are able to just let out our emotions rather than storing up negative emotions that can lead to many bad effects. x_x

Ever had a friend who is always depressed and suicidal? Always comparing himself/herself with others and always posts/say emo stuffs? If a name appeared on your mind, I suggest that you share about Befrienders via Social Good 2.0 to that person. It is dangerous for a person to have suicidal thoughts. I believe we all know of the consequences of such negativity. He/she needs help, help from professionals and they can remain anonymous about it.

LOTS! I can't wait to share all of them with you :) I can personally testify of the various opportunities that I have as a teen. I have already cashed out twice over the course of one year. And the sum is really hugeeee. Am gonna cash out for the third time soon :P

Abandon my blog? Did I just abandon my blog? NO WAY. Actually kinda. Been busy with college ever since semester started. I'm not that busy busy. But always have something occupying my time. And now with two research paper, presentations and midterms coming up, I can't afford to slack already can I? October and November is like the peak of all peaks. College and life likewise. Going off to two places next month. Exciting indeed.

Something nice came and something not-so-nice happened. Still kinda sad about it. But what can I do? Anyways, I have a lot of pictures to share. To even blog about. Come to think of it, I haven't make a proper post about Korea, have I? And it's been almost ONE YEAR. Hurhur. I'm so gonna be a pro procrastinator in blogging. O: sigh. Will blog, when I feel like it and when I have time. Teehee. :)

Bukit Gambang Water Park, Kuantan

Life is fun. Without any worries. Just family and friends and awesome time together :)

So, I went to Bukit Gambang Water Park in Kuantan last month, 20th August to be exact just because I won tickets and it's expiring on September. Was still having holidays then, so it was a good time to go. :D Alvin drove us all the way there and back, spending about 5 hours in the car for the whole trip altogether. :(

The weather was pretty crazy. About 30 minutes before we arrived, it was super cloudy and raining heavily, and we were like panicking in our hearts. I think all of us prayed really hard in our hearts although no one said anything because we were on the verge of being emo already seeing the gloomy skies. Then, there was hope because when we stepped down of our cars it was drizzling. Lo and behold, yay! 15 minutes later it stopped raining altogether. Yesssss.

We had a mad good time together. Not forgetting we had the place all to ourselves because we booked the place. Muahahaha! Don't believe? See picture lah..

Seriously, we had the place all to ourselves in the first 1 hour or so because there was so little people that we didn't have to queue up at all to get our rides. Woohoooooooooooo. Probably it was because of the puasa month. But yeah. The place is also clean and their toilets too. There wasn't like a whole lot of rides. There was a six-lane racer which gave me the creeps, and also 3 other slides with different speed and shades, and also a family ride together. So that makes 5 rides. Sufficient enough though.

It was a good experience :D Price is also reasonable. Food not too bad, but portion was just ok or a little small. Overall it was a good trip!

Just a reminder though..

Never try to stand underneath this evil piranha if you're not balanced enough. :( Do not be deceived by Philip although this was such a cool shot! I stood underneath it once, and fell down straight on my knees when the water came splashing over meeee. I totally cannot hold my body and the water was so strong I felt like I was being pushed down, LITERALLY! Thus, bruises on my knees and it bleed a little. So, I got a new scar on my knees after a few years. MEH. But I still went on to try to get a nice shot like this...but unfortunately, I stood at the wrong position etc etc. Sobs.

Well, I'm looking forward to my next holiday and vacation and outing, which is really soon. Though my actual holiday won't arrive anytime sooner. Meh. Enjoy life! :)

Food: Steamboat Buffet at Steamboat Palace, Sri Petaling

Mum read about a blog review about this place not too long ago, and we went out to try about 2 weeks ago. It was hard to find the place coz mum got overconfident, she didn't do research on how to go and she got the address wrong. The place is actually very near to Seri Saujana school. -.-'' Anyway lesson: Do your homework before doing any kind of adventures.

Lol. Apparently the aunty in the picture kept staring at our table. *rolls eyes* Malaysians gotta stop this "stop and stare" practice when they see something/someone "unsual". Ish.

*update: ok, it's not this aunty. LOOOL. another aunty. haahhaa

Anyway, by the time we reach, it was about 7, I think. Crowd was okay, probably around 3-4 tables occupied. As soon as we stepped in, the workers there served us and were very nice people. Really enjoy going to places with good services.

Prawns and scallops. Yummeh.

What's this called again? Let's just call it "bamboo lala" XD

One nice thing about this place is, there's a barbecue area and you can practically ask the workers to barbecue anything for you. The workers will also approach you to ask you how many chicken wings you want.

This is. MAD NICE. T_T This BBQ chicken is like heaven. It's soft and juicy, not like some chickens which can turn out to be hard and what-not. Super tasty! But the downside of this is..it's limited :( When I wanted to ask for a second helping an hour later (coz I was done eating everything else) they told me finish dy. Sobs. So, if you wanna eat this, go earlier!

Fried stuff! I don't know how they count this or if it's included but it's also very yummy. The worker asked us how many we want as soon as we're seated. So, yeah. Don't know issit counted or not. EVERYTHING IS SO YUMMY HERE.

Yesh. BBQ prawns. Lalala

What this again? Scallop with some sauce. NICEEE. XDD

BBQ crabs. Did I mention the crabs were really fresh? So juicy and meaty and yummy. Sorry man, just ran out of words on how to describe how yummy the foods are.

Homemade mushroom balls. This is good for shroom lovers. But bad for those who hate them. The taste it quite..mushroomy. Maybe a bit unusual, but overall it's okay for me. :P

I know it looks like some silky work but it's not. It's actually the "bamboo lala" XDD. BBQ-ed, again :P With cheese!!! O: YUMMEH.

Well, choices are your normal ones lah. All kinds of balls and shrooms. Fishes and what-not. Usually, my family don't eat any kind of balls when eating steamboat outside. To make our trip worth, we always opt for prawns and crabs and those shell-ed creatures. Heh heh heh.

Yes, besides BBQ-ing. We also asked the workers to steam crab for us :] Wee. Steaming crabs only enhances how juicy the crabs are, the original sweetness. Drooling while thinking about this :(

There's also icecreams for desserts. I liked the yam. :]

Overall, it was a worthwhile trip to try out the place. Good food. Reasonable price for the things we had. And it's also quite near. Not forgetting their very good service. They workers were really friendly and they were efficient. Won't hesitate to come again next time :P

Contagion Full Movie Review

Yahooooooo. So, I know Contagion is screening in cinemas already starting from today and guess what peeps? I watched it earlier than most people. Buahahhahahahahahahahhahaa. *evil laughter continues* Yesh, I got invites to watch it all thanks to Nuffnang :DD Been awhile since I joined any screenings because I was being selective before entering. I didn't know about the movie until I saw Nuffnang posting saying that they have tickets to giveaway for preview screening and I saw the cast list: Matt Damon, Kate Winslet and Jude Law. Hoomg?! Jude Law and Matt Damon in the same movie? Awesome much :P

Let's talk about the movie now! WARNING: SPOILER AHEAD. There would be some part that I may have forgotten or not very detailed. Forgive me. This is my first time reviewing a movie anyway? :P

K. Basically, you should already know the synopsis of the movie. What?? You mean you don't know? O; Okayyy.. Some intro about the movies first tho. This film is a thriller, I won't say it's horror. There are many casts in this movie mainly because of the storyline. There isn't really any leading or supporting character because most of their onscreen-time is very short. The movie is mainly about an outbreak of a deadly disease and an international team of professionals are trying to deal with this.

So, the movie starts off with "Day 2", you would be wondering why. You'll only know at the end of the movie. Day 2 shows Gwyneth Paltrow as Beth Emhoff in an airport, supposedly "jet-lagged" and was coughing while she was on the phone, waiting for the next flight. After that, the movie continues showing several people who were sick - drowsy, sweating a lot, coughing - in several parts of the world.

Beth Emhoff's son was seen to be ill in the clinic when Mitch Emhoff (Matt Damon) picked them up. Next thing you know, Beth Emhoff was having seizure in her kitchen while Emhoff was talking to her. Well, as you would have known from the trailer, Beth says byebye to the world. Beth continue to make several appearance in the movie through flashbacks. Soon after Beth's death, her son, Clark, followed suit next. It was made known that something was very wrong with Beth and after much investigations turns out, not surprisingly, that Beth is Patient Zero.

The movie continues to introduce more characters, with Alan Krumwiede (Jude Law) coming into the picture as a controversial blogger-journalist who found the video of a man dying in a bus. He gotten many hits in his blog by producing Vlogs and such ,saying he found the cure to the disease and criticized the government and the other organisations for working hands in glove for not revealing the cure because of financial gains.

Emhoff was quarantined so that investigations can be done and also to check whether he has gotten the infection. Turns out, he wasn't and he was Emhoff's daughter came into the picture and in several parts of the movie, Emhoff was very conscious about the environment and did his best to keep his daughter safe.

Kate Winslet plays Dr. Erin Mears, who was probably my favourite character in the movie. She was under Dr. Ellis (see below) and was sent to get more information. If I didn't mistaken, she was an expert in epidemic viruses. She was very hardworking and often neglected herself. She played a very noble character. Even till the end, when she knew she was infected, she still did whatever she could, to get the list of the possible people who would have been infected by her. Eventually, :( she died. T________T Saddest part of the movie. And before she died, she was struggling to fight to live on, but she gave her jacket to the one beside her who was complaining that he was very cold.

Laurence Fishburne plays Dr. Ellis Cheever, which plays a prominent role in this movie too. I think his onscreen-time was probably the longest out of all the casts, but I may be wrong :P He was very caring towards Dr. Erin who was in his team of CDC (Centres for Disease for Control and Prevention). His team was finding cures and was facing a lot of pressure. Dr. Cheever displayed a selfish behavior when he asked his soon-to-be wife to run away before everyone else get the chance. Very unprofessional for his job. But towards the end, Dr. Cheever gave away his vaccine to Roger's son.

Marion Cotillard is Dr. Leonora Orantes who is also in the medic team and was working with Chin Han. Chin Han planned a kidnap and demanded for cure and treatments as random. The deal was made but when Dr. Leonara found out that Chin Han had gotten the fake vaccines, Dr. Leonara was seen to rush off from the airport.

Hero, or rather heroine of the movie goes is Ally Hextall (Jennifer Ehle). She tested vaccines on monkeys and when she found out that one monkey was not sick, she tested the vaccine on herself although it was against all the protocols.
There are many more characters in this movie but the one I mentioned are the ones that plays a significant role than all the rest. While the world was being panicked, Dr. Ellis and his team was working hard to find cure. Alan was coming up with more controversies. Emhoff had no time to mourn but fighting to protect his daughter from the disease. The movies shows a progression mainly about the disease, how it spread and affected millions of life. But there was a rather happy ending since there was a cure. Movie ends with "Day 1", showing how exactly Beth got the terrible disease. Pig and bats. Hahaha.
I know many have found this movie to be boring. But this movie shows very realistic responses in life. When people gets desperate, they would do things that are not right, even if it seemed right at that time. I believe there are many lessons to learn. I know people don't wanna watch this kinda movie and classified this as "documentary". But hey, wait till you face it. It's as true as it gets.

I rate this movie, 7/10. Maybe I tend to be a bit biased coz I like Matt Damon, Jude Law and Kate Winslet. Lalala. But then again, their onscreen-time is so little. Don't agree with me? Then watch for yourself then judge. :]

Start of Sem 2

I'm 2 weeks away from my first quiz. HOMG. :( Time flies. September dy! Oh gosh. I will not be updating as often anymore. Oh My Oreos!

Hi peeps, you wouldn't believe this. Cause I can't either. For those who haven't know, I actually won a year supply of Oreos from Nuffnang and ChurpChurp! How? Just by participating a contest that they ran on Facebook. And yes, ONE YEAR supplies of Oreos! They actually gave me TEN BOXES.

Yes, I went and collected them with my mum. But because my mum had to wait downstairs due to the parking and stuffs, I went to collect alone :( But but, the Nuffnang peeps were nice :D They helped me to carry down half of them. Sobs, thank you very much! :]

Silly me, I forgot to take a picture with the oreos. I actually took one picture at the Nuffnang office, I hope they will upload it :) Yea, so I got two boxes for each flavour - original, chocolate, double delight (which is chocolate and peanut butter), ice cream (blueberry) and also double stuff (double the cream :P)

Actually, I didn't know Oreos had sooo many other flavours O: And so far I've tried the ice cream flavour. It's kinda like minty O_O Didn't really liked it. :/ XD Still prefer the original conventional one. :P Anyhows, I've given away 7 boxes already. :] So, I'm left with about 3 boxes. Can make so many things with Oreos. Cakes, desserts, eat it like that. Huahua.

55-200mm

So, with the help of sponsors from both my sisters I was able to buy the 55-200mm lens from U. William for quite a bargain. :P Was trying some test shots in bazaar Ramadhan.

Overall, it's a good lens especially for portrait. But I'm still struggling to use it at short range because I'm used to that. With this lens, I have to stand a far otherwise the lens can't focus. And I realized I can't do food photography with this lens. Gotta use back kit lens, would be better. Hmm. Nice feeling to be able to zoom far with this lens though. Gotta learn more!! :D Till next time.

Merdeka

Helloooooo. Been awhile since I updated here. Went back to Muar few days ago and back home again now. It's merdeka today, but I'm not feeling very "patriotic". No spirit of merdeka somehow. But I still appreciate being in Malaysia.Owh, results was out last Friday. Quite happy with my results, 2HD1D1C. I got a credit for Intermediate English.. wow. Of all subjects, I never thought I would get C for IE. Hmm. Nevermind, I gotta work harder for A. English and stop confusing myself with grammar... Never liked grammar O:

College is starting on Monday. Super fast. O_O 6 weeks of holiday is coming to an end. Feeling nervous again somehow. Wonder who are my classmates, and lecturers. Uh, hope it's gonna be good because everyone's freaking out because everyone says sem2 is the toughest. o_O!

Bazaar Ramadhan Bandar Tun Razak LRT Station

Every year, I will wait for this time of the year where the puasa month is here and I will visit the same old bazaar Ramadhan in Bandar Tun Razak near the LRT station. It's not a very long and packed one but good enough to get the food that I like :P

So, it's an annual practice for my family to go and get our favourites and this time I went with my new toy! Practically just having some test shots :( It sucks. I took a few pictures with flash and some pictures was out of focus :/ Sorry la, still trying. Give me some time to be better =p

Oh ya, I decided not to watermark my pictures anymore because I'm practically duplicating them and it's eating up space :( So, hopefully no one takes any pictures for harmful uses. *perasan

See, my sister so happy she bought something. Cheh wah. Actually not, I was taking random shots and she was walking around and I took a shot of her. Then I showed her, but she say not nice. So, take again loh. She purposely walked all the way back, and walk back towards me again. Thus, the smiling face. So not candid O:

While most of the stores have customers, this mak cik here doesn't. Feel a bit sad for her :/ But I didn't help to contribute to her business also. O: Sorry mak cik!

Ayam percik. Basically, this is like the ayam being satayed. LOL. I don't know how to say it. But that's the idea. Ini peha, tau? It's a must have at least twice for our few visits to the bazaar. The sauce's good too. We always buy from the same store. Nom nom nom.

Roti jala! Please eat this with curry. This year, the uncle whom we buy from regularly is missing :( Don't know why but he's not found to be selling roti jala. We tried another store, and the other only store that sells roti jala but it wasn't very nice. So, no no. Pak cik, come backkkkkkkkk.

Roti john! It's practically egg with meat with berlambak sauce. This is nice, though judging from the picture it looks like a plain boring bread with nothing -.-'' There are like about 4 stores selling roti john (tried all of them) but only this one that appeals to me. No chilli sauce just mayo. Went back twice, wanting to buy from that uncle but he...went and sell coconut and drinks instead T_T Naper, pak cik, naper?? Saya suka roti john tu :(

Roti with kebab with BBQ sauce. Ate this twice for this bulan puasa. I don't mind breads, thus... Not very very very suka jer, boleh tahan.

CEMPEDAK. CEMPEDAK GORENG. I tell you, one of the best things this year available in the bazaar. XD. Previously, I don't remember any store selling cempedak. This is just great! :D Been craving to eat cempedak for months. One thing about cempedak is, when the Malays sell them, it's cheaper and somehow tend to be nicer and sweeter. When Chinese sells them, it's super expensive -_- and you don't wanna buy either and rather goreng yourself. XD Sedap seh! Went and buy cempedak goreng everytime we went to the bazaar. Hohoho.

Okay, no more food picture...which means I'm missing one of the best things also..........TEPUNG PELITA. NUUUUUUUUUUUU. I forgot to take picture :( And oh, this is like the last week to feast on all of these stuffs before waiting another year, AGAIN. Sad... Well, hope to go somewhere this week. But I'm having flu and sorethroat. Meh. Gotta cut on all these heaty food. Pfft.

Aloha! Been wanting to update blog and upload pictures but never managed to do that because computer's always lagging and I don't have extra mouse to use it on the laptop. Laptop's keys are also very problematic. So.... let's just upload one picture today. Just a short update.

Yay. So I won this CD from Rock Corner, last month. 6CDs with different instrumentals, best suited with wine and candlelight dinner? XD Went and collect it from their outlet in Gardens. Then, they wanted to take a video.. which you can watch here (link). Well, tell me how is it because until now I didn't watch it. I know/think I sound and look ridiculous T.T Sad to say, I never sounded nice on any video. Sad case :(

Okay, so I hope to update blog again soon because I have so much to share with you all :D On the other hand, college is starting soon. Zomg. And also, results out on Friday. Anticipating. I hope I did well. :P Till then, cyas! :]

For me, nothing is more encouraging than to see another brother or sister testifying of their new-found passion in Christ. It's a joy to see how much a person can grow in such a short time. From the way they talk, from they way they think, definitely from the way they act. The question still lingers in my mind: Believer or disciple? One can be a Christian for such a long time, yet heart and life still unchanged? Why? Simply because they refuse to be a disciple. I will remember what I learnt in BK, discipleship is costly. Discipleship requires two parties, one who is willing to be disciple and another to disciple. Why is the church lacking in disciples? Could it be that there is no willing disciple? Or could it be there is no one to disciple them? A question to think of.

Last year's trip to Korea was indeed one of the most amazing experience in my life. One of the happiest moments in life. Thank God for a good tour, and also a good tour guide. Our tour guide was a Christian of 4 years, but he spoke to us and testify among us (there were non-believers too) as if he has been a Christian for his lifetime. I was really deeply encouraged by him.

Then comes, a sister who has been showing her deep passion about the things that is in her heart. Deeply encouraged. Who would have thought that the person who shunned away at first would became part of this big family? And my heart breaks for those who refuse to listen, or just merely rejecting Christ's love for them. Christian? Yes. But lack of belief. Just like anyone else, we have a choice. We have a choice whether to accept Christ in our lives. We have a choice to change and be part of a greater purpose in life. We have the choice whether to believe that we are indeed good enough for God, we are made righteous in Christ aren't we? And even if we are not good enough, God still loves us nevertheless. How good is ever good enough? Just like how much money is ever enough? Never. The world tells us we are never good enough. There will be always someone who is better than us. Someone who will have more than us materially. Are we going to give up on ourselves because we doubt it? Because we want instant results. But yet we know that nothing comes easy don't we? We only know how to adapt to negative values of the world. We don't know how to use the positive ones. It's hard to set apart from the world because we've stepped too deeply into it. And definitely, we need someone to pull us out. But do we want to stretch forth our hands and admit, yes, I need help? I need help and I need and want to be out of this. Or are we going to sink in deeper and continue to let our own emotions drown us down simply because we refuse due to our pride? Pride, my friend is the root cause of many conflicts and problems. Not because we are not good enough. Simply because we refuse to be better when we can be. The choice is ours. Make up your mind.

Birthday

So this is the story. After I went for dinner in Renaissance, after cutting cake, I went up to change and was preparing to go online. I was in college since morning till evening. Then came back went straight for dinner after awhile. Did I mention I also had my English oral presentation on my birthday? O: And I didn't do very well and was kinda sad. Nuuu, I suck at English nowadays. I gotta improve :( Brush up public speaking T.T Brush up, must be more spontaneous. And must pick the right topic. Darn. Okay, back to story.

So I changed already. Hit the button to start the laptop upstairs. Heard the house bell ringing but didn't bother. Then my sisters ask me come down see something about BERSIH. LOL. 2 days after Bersih mah. So anyway, came down. And voila. Hoong Fong, Akijay and Vivian was standing at my door holding a cake.

First word I said was "ewwwwwwwwwww" HAHAHAHA. /slaps self. In times like this, very paiseh one loh. O: So, I didn't know what to say. *shy shy Anyway, thank youuuuuuuuuu for coming over and thank you for the cake ;] Really feel very appreciated hahaha =) <3

Transformers Book and Graphic Novel and Updates

Okay, initially I wanted to blog about something else. But let's just move on to what I want to blog now :P After 3 weeks of waiting, finally the Transformers book I won was delivered to my house last week. Yay! I like winning and getting the stuffs couriered. Won it the book from Facebook competition somewhere in July. Haven't wrapped the book yet and haven't started reading. Should probably do that soon.

On the other hand, I have achieved what I wanted for the past 2 years! :D If you haven't know, I've gotten my very first DSLR :) Nikon D5100, so I guess I would be using that to shoot pictures from now. It's has been my dream to own one and finally got my hands on one on the 6th August 2011 :D (told you I have something with dates). I've been saving for the past 2 years, especially last year with my earnings with several online communities, selling stuffs, etc. Managed to saved enough and mum brought me to buy it after much persuasion XD. Mum paid on my behalf, I haven't asked her about the money yet since it's in the bank, maybe I'll ask her later when she's home.

So yes, been shooting around and learning how to use a dslr. Very different from compact. Although I can actually use point-and-shoot using DSLR but that defeats the purpose right? O: And liveview also eats up battery. Tsktsk. Before buying, I did some survey and learnt a lot of photography jargon mainly from Wesley. So now, I roughly know some photography jargon like aperture, shutter speed, bokeh etc. Never knew all these until these year. What the crap right? O:

By the way, anyone noticed the watermark I made? Kinda lame :( Anyone got suggestion what fonts or what watermark should I make? O; I don't really like to use "photography" but don't know what else to use. XD!

Renaissance Hotel Kuala Lumpur Buffet Dinner

Last month, was my birthday. Wakakaka. So yeah, Groupon was actually having promotion 50% discount for buffet at Renaissance. So, went there anyhows to celebrate my birthday and also my sister's, just 3 days apart if you didn't know. Heh. There were many other people who went there too, and I found out, most of them were using the Groupon voucher too.

Not much picture. Just food picture infact. :O Oh, on a random thought, I skipped my extra math class btw for this dinner :3 The only time I skipped math class infact, coz replacement was from 5.30pm-7.00pm =_______=' Can't make it. Okay! Picture time :P Not in order.

Ice-cream. This was disappointing. They only have TWO flavours and the icecream booth was like hidden in the middle together with all the other desserts. :/ The icecream section was really small(can't even call it a section actually) and disappointing. Usually, I'll go a few rounds of ice-creams but for this, I went just once! Even with the choc chips and chocolate topping above, the icecream still sucks. :/ Bad bad bad!

Prawns! Cold prawns geeez.

Fat blobs of salmon sashimi (favouriteee!). Some other kind of sushis. Really, that's not much choice of sushi around O: Even for the octopus, I had to go a few times to get the plate. And the octopus tastes weirdddd. Oh, they have handrolls too, that's a plus. But no sauce -_- I meant, mayo. That's a minus for them.

Steamed prawns with ginger, random sushi behind and a piece of crab. Cold crab too. Meh, don't really fancy eating cold crabs or prawns o_o

Clockwise : Beef (I forgot what exactly it is, but tastes not bad :P), LAMBBBBB!, prawns (again xD), grilled salmon

Cake pudding. Is it? I forgot. Didn't like the taste. :P

I had other stuffs including random things like pisang goreng lol. Some cakes, not very into it, tastes ordinary :P Beef. Overcooked, or at least it's overly tough to be eaten for me. Man, I don't know what's wrong with Renaissance. It wasn't the kind of buffet I was expecting from them :/ Nevertheless, no complains.

Probably it was the price O: Perhaps the changed the menu or something because of the Groupon deal. The last time I went here was more than 5 years ago, can't remember what exactly I ate but I vividly remembered they had cheese baked muscles. It tastes soooooo good, that's why I only remember that XD.

After that, went home to cut cake :P

Yes, mum made crepe cake. x) See the layers. Hohoho.

Father's Day Competition

This was also way back in June. I entered a competition on facebook again. I think it's my second time entering a "like" contest. And also my last one. I have promised myself NEVER EVER enter another "like" contest ever again. Reason being? I don't have as much friends and my skin is not thick enough :(

Anyway, the competition actually started off as a "like" competition. Meaning, the comment with most likes will win the contest. It's actually pretty at first, with little competition, afterall it was meant for students, or so I assume. The prize was also good, in my opinion. RM200 McDonalds vouchers and also TEN tickets to Bukit Gambang for 25 winners!

And yes, I liked my own comment. Lol! I know how people say liking your own statuses/comments are like high-5-ing yourself. Hehe, but this is an exceptional case. Ahem. Anyways, I didn't gathered the 252 likes myself. At most, probably only a 100 was from me. I really have to thank all my fellow friends who also ask their friends to help me like my comment O: And a hugeeeeee thank you to those who followed through my instructions and liked my comment above. *big hugssss* XD

But you know what, even with these 252 likes it's not enough. O: I thought me and my friends were in a comfortable position having that kind of number of likes, but to my horror on the morning that competition was supposed to end, I found out there were about 15 more people racing up, gaining 1 likes every time I refresh the page. -_- It's scary. In the end, those peeps got 300 over likes in A DAY, while I slowly gathered mine in 2 weeks -_-'' Meh. Talk about circle of influence.

I was at the losing streak, and so was my friends and I gave up. But miracles DO happen you know. O: At that day in the evening, I was so sad because I had put on a thick face to ask so many people to like my comment but end up losing in a day T_T =.='' But but but, suddenly the organizers changed the terms and conditions and the most touching/creative comment will win! Wahahaha, I was laughing in my heart because I MIGHT just stand a chance to win.

It was funny, because those people who gathered around more than 200 likes just deleted their comments like that, because the organizers only judge based on one comment, and they wrote another one to be more touching/creative. They deleted the comment with 200 likes?! No way man, if me, I die also don't wanna delete.

So, anyway, I think one week later or something, I received a call from Hoong Fong, he told me I won. Omg, leaping in joy :D

Yeap, so I won. RM200 McDonalds vouchers and 10 Bukit Gambang tix! Which I'm going to use soon, I guess? Yeah, for those who don't know yet, Bukit Gambang is kinda new water park in Kuantan. Yesh, so far away :( I wish and hope I can make it in time to use 'em tix.

So, the fun part of entering a competition is always the anticipation of knowing who won what. The not-so-fun part of winning a competition is the part where you have to travel far away to collect your prize. But, the organizers were kind enough to courier them prizes to winners. So, Imma happy soul.

Thrill3r Project: Riverboarding

On July 16th, I managed have this chance to go to riverboarding at Gopeng. This is organized by Jack N' Jill Roller Coaster and I was one of lucky 10 who got chosen to join them, much thanks to Says.my :D And also I can bring one friend along, and I brought Lulu along. :D I mean, Tse Ling XD

Gathered at Centrepoint, journeyed there in two separate vans and reached Gopeng, the area for riverboarding around say...10? The equipments and stuffs were in Adeline's Villa. Kinda nice place.

I'm so round. T^T. Yes, I realize that. That's like the full equipment minus the board itself. Changing into these took time because first of all, the overall was like painfully tight! Takes times to pull it, skin to skin tight. Next, they have to make sure we wore it right. So they actually helped us to "wear" those safety jackets, helmets and choose the right sizes for us. Oh, the shoe was painfully tight too T^T. After wearing the suit for 5 minutes, be prepared to feel like as if you're in a sauna. YES, I'm not exaggerating -.-'

After the changing of the equipments part, we rode on a truck to go to the riverside. Immediately, we were asked to go into the river and start our adventure. In order to finish the adventure, survival skills is very important. Basically, it was a VERY bumpy ride for me. :( And I nearly drown. Sorry folks, those wishing that I would not come back, sorry I came back in one piece. XD Water sports is really not my thing, and I can't even swim. :( I have some kind of water-phobia goodness me, but I wonder why I still wanted to go for riverboarding. Honestly, I was quite hesitant to join this activity in the first place but thinking that it was a free trip and also might be my once in a lifetime chance to experience this, might as well just appreciate this opportunity :P

Back to the story where I was nearly drowned :x I'm one of the weakest person in the team.. I was rushed away by the current each time, much thanks to my low level of intelligence in body movement -_-'' And also there were very huge rocks around and I banged into them -_- Besides the experience, I got back a very big bruise at my pelvic bone and even my butt was hurting -_-''

Meh.

Me and the angmoh instructor, who saved me from drowning. Wuwuwu. Thank you for saving my life. I am deeply grateful. Well, hahaa. He was a very professional instructor.

Well due to safety reasons, 20 of us were divided into 2 groups. So, I was in the first group. It took close to 2 hours to complete the first lap of the whole riverboarding adventure. Then, those who wanted to go for the 2nd lap can go ahead, while others can rest. I stayed back because I was like going crazy half-way through the first lap and feeling like dying already because I was so "traumatized" after almost drowning XD Tse Ling went ahead, took close to another 1 hour to finish the lap too. By the end of it, we're almost K.O dy.

However, since we're group no.1, we were given time to rejuvenate. LOL. We waited for 4 hours for group 2 to finish like how they waited for us. Four hours without phone line, wifi or anything really kills. XD Most of us just slacked around while waiting to kill time. Tse Ling studied cause that week she was having finals. I managed to sleep off for about 30 minutes. Then continue to stoned and walk around, slacked and killed more time. Kinda torturing, but I guess this gives us the chance that we needed to be calm and just enjoy nature. The Adeline's villa was really shady and we only get to hang around in the makan area. But it was not too bad, at least we get to sit around and sleep if we wanted to :P

Anyway, two of the guys from our team went to makan durian at the kampung because they were bored too. It was kinda far away, they borrowed motors from the owner I guess. XD Then, they actually brought back durians for us to eat! LOL. Tse Ling and I were so happy to feast on them :P And guess what? They say they only paid RM3. HAHAH. Nice weh. Durians for RM3 O: Anyway, just wanna say thank you to the 2 Malay chaps :) They were reallly nice peeps :D

Other highlight of this trip to Riverboarding was... we only left for KL at 9pm O: goodness. Supposed to leave at 6pm but got delayed :( Well, in exchanged, we got a ride on the truck into the town area and experienced the feel of being inside a PSP. XD. It was dark and on the way out, it was windy and the driver was like speeding cause it was late. LOL. There were many trees around and everytime we were approaching, we managed to duck in time. And it was drizzlingggg, added oomph to the experience. LOL. It was really fun until the rain got a lil heavy and our face started to hurt O: XD

So yeah, we reached KL before the clock struck 11. -_- the van driver was really like speeding at 110-130 km/h the whole journey. I noticed there were huge trailers around the road hogging the fast lane. Goodness, move to the left lane please heavy vehicles -_-''

Ah well, tees from Jack N' Jills and I think they distributed goodie bags. We didn't get it cause we left early XD. I stole this picture off says.my pictures ;x Sorry. Overall, it was a good experience. Enjoyed myself and it's enough I experience this just once. XD Once is good enough :P

It's gloomy today. Rained awhile.. Feel like typing a long blog post but no inspiration O: So, here you go. An essay I wrote for English homework :/

The Causes and Effects of Child Prostitution

Child prostitution has long been a concern of child advocates. While the children's rights movement is not very prominent in Malaysia, the people of the United States continues to advocate for children's rights. Today, child prostitution continues to be a problem of significance importance globally, especially in the United States, with an increased number of teens falling into prostitution. One cannot mistaken that child prostitution only involves the girls as studies have shown that the number of males under age 16 that are involved in prostitution are equally as many as girls. Therefore, it is important for the society to tackle this global issue by finding its root causes and looking into them to find solutions.

Juveniles who enter prostitution are often from similar backgrounds. Most, if not all are from dysfunctional family system. Statistics have shown that 70 percent of juvenile prostitutes were raised by one parent. Poor relationships with parents and other family members can affect the self-development of a child. The lack of social skills in a child can be a hindrance from building self-confidence thus leading the child to feel worthless and useless. Consequently, they are easily victimized and exploited by pimps, who praise their worth as sex objects. The children who suffered from neglect also felt compelled to leave their homes, as they want to seek for attention elsewhere then eventually got themselves involved in prostitution. Pimps, who often speaks with a forked tongue, took advantaged of these children and manipulates them. Therefore, it is important for families to foster care among each other to avoid making children feel vulnerable and worthless.

Other than the dysfunctional family systems, money is also a primary factor that made children involved in prostitution. Most girls that are involved in prostitution have poor self-concept and seek money as compensation. Although some parents may be the ones that force their children to be involved in prostitution due to financial problems, it is usually the children themselves that start prostituting in order to survive as they have described their earnings as "easy money". The culture of society can also very much affect how child prostitution becomes a norm to the society as it is seen as a normal means to earn a living in the shortest time being. This however, does not justify the actions of prostituting because two wrongs don't make a wrong. Hence, it is important to address this issue in the right manner where the society embrace the right culture that is edifying to one another.

The two main factors - dysfunctional family and money - that 'encourages' juvenile into prostitution can lead to many more problems. The children that are in prostitution are often abused sexually by pedophiles. The sexual abuse will have a lasting traumatic effect on them for the rest of their lives as they struggle to set free from what they have gotten themselves into. The sexual abuse can also result in children being blackmailed and pornographic materials are created out of them. Although boys are often able to exit from prostitution and lead relatively normal lives, girls are more likely to continue by going into adult prostitution as a means of survival. Then, when they have their own children, their children will also get involved in the cycle. This results in child prostitution generation after generations and there must be a stop to this.

The other problems include having multiple sex partners is accepted as a norm in life. Individuals no longer feel violated or manipulated as they grew up in the environment that accepts prostitution. The victims of child prostitution may have suffered severe emotional and physical abuse but may not learnt how to deal with it but rather, they accept it as part of their life. The offenders will also no longer be punished or held responsible for what they have done but they will continue to manipulate and take advantage of other children. Many more children will be victims in prostitution if they aren't aware of the dangers of being a child prostitute. Therefore, right now, it is time to raise the awareness level of the public about child prostitution.

Children are supposed to be nurtured, cared and protected but many people had took advantage of their innocence in lief. The efforts of the children right movement alone is never enough but with the help of the society, the effort will grow by leaps and bounds which will result in seeing children across the world achieve their own dreams as they grow to become an adult. With the help and support from every party to migitate child prostitution, the world can be a better place for each and every child, including those who were victims and were affected by prostitution. However, until the society understands the dangers of child prostitution, it will be difficult to provide children with the protection they need and deserve.

Marche at The Curve, Damansara

Ruhwey and the cow.

This is quite overdue about 2 weeks ago. Hehe. So, we had a surprise birthday dinner with Joynn at Marche at the Curve. It's my second time here after many many many years ago. My first time was more than 6 years ago, and I can't even remember what I ate then.

It's easy to spot Marche as long as you see the cow above in the street walk. Just a fun fact, Marche (pronounced as Mar-shay) literally means market in French. So, the concept of this restaurant is basically like a marketplace. Of course, it's a very high class and clean one. :P

That was some of us, chilling after decorating the place with balloons. Other pictures were much more blurry, thus lazy to upload -.- Nevermind, you won't be disappointed with the food pictures later I hope O:

Blurrrryyy pictures. Please excuse it. That was our private chamber for the night. We were seated at the Swiss Auberge section. Cool eh? Just imagine walking with that many balloons and fitting them all inside one car. LOL amazing I must say. I'm impressed. So after waiting, we were told to hide as Jo's gonna come anytime soon.. So, hiding it is. But after the 5th minute of squatting down and trying to avoid being seen, everyone's like "faster lahhhhhhhhhhhh"..

So alas, bravo we manage to surprise her. Bet she didn't expected. Wahahaa. Although she said she suspected. Yea right.

Just a reminder, cause I feel like taking whatever I saw too XD

Grilled fish, I forgot what species of fish but definitely not dory -_-' This was KLing's meal. Yummeh. Got veggie and potato o_o" Add on I think for the potato, not sure about the veggie.

Grilled striploin aka beef. No veggie!!! Looks very dry right? Actually kind of. This was my meal. O: I wish they had some salad or something. I ordered medium but it was like well done :( To me, it was so-so. In comparison with The Ship's beef I'd take sides with The Ship's :P

Rosti on the left, and lamb on the right. Curi makan from other people thus the smaller portion. XD This is my first time eating rosti and I love it!!! Why I like Rosti? Kan I told you already, I love anything that is of potatoes (link) :P The lamb was okay, I feel bloated that night honestly and didn't have a good appetite. So everything was okay to me -.-'' except rosti! XD

Spaghetti something something? Forgot :/ I felt like vomiting because of the cream. Oh, it's not the full portion by the way. Not fine dining lah, don't worry :P

Oh!! And this pizza!!! I love this pizza tooooooooooooo. After the rosti, this pizza is the next thing I enjoyed eating the most for the night. Heeee. Sedap tau. I know I makan-ed a lot during the night, explains my size :( Sorry loh. But I didn't binge okay T.T

KILLER OF THE NIGHT. Chocolate cake from Godiva. One person made a joke something about Goddessva -_-' lame dou. The chocolate was too overwhelming for most of us. It's tooooo chocolatey you can vomit on the spot if you finish one slice by yourself. See for yourself below.

Every single layer is made from pure chocolate, even the base. Don't expect to find any layer without chocolate :P And this is no spongecake you know. XD Eating the cake is like eating melted chocolated that is shaped in a slice. O: Okay exaggerating. As much as it's very chocolatey and can make you feel. It can also make you feel like you're in heaven liddat also. Okay lah, enough of my hyperbole. Sorry O:

End of Sem 1

Yay! Today marks the day I finish my first semester in college. Officially finished finals today :P Time flies isn't it? I know I haven't really blogged much about college life although I have started since the last week of March. Gosh, it's end of July already!

College has been pretty much the same to me, I don't feel anything exciting in particular but happy things are done very different as compared in school. More commitment, less reliant thus more independent. Also, having "breaks" in between of classes. And most of all, two-way form of interaction from most classes. I must say, I enjoy lectures though I feel like going to sleep mode sometimes. :/ And I thank God for good lecturers :D

These are people I first met in my first two weeks in college. First batch of people I know in college. Most of us are not in the same class for the semester. So just remain hi-bye friends :/ It's somehow interesting though. We only know each other for one week, the next week we've like celebrations for each other cause three of them were April babies. That's pretty much what I have to do with them.

The most fun I had was with my English class classmates :D All very fun and sporting people :) Especially during the oral week, where we have to do a demonstrative presentation, most of them did food/drink preparation. And I as a spectator got the benefit of "food-tasting". We had brownies, sushis, lemonade, mocktail, pancakes and more during the whole week. Awesome time XD We also had a live Kpop dance lol. Entertaining. We took the group picture during the photoshoot week. Our theme was black and red. Obviously -.-

This is us trying out the creative lighting. My brilliant idea. Cough. I love English class :D

College was fun and somehow very stress(hectic) because everything is happening at the same time. I had 3 presentations back-to-back and finals immediately after that. O: Thus, the lack of updates XD. I had my share of unhappiness when my groupmate didn't do his share of work for assignment. Ruxyn being Ruxyn obviously got very, very, very upset. But I still put his name for the assignment. O: Learn to give grace.. Anyhow, he got the product marks, although he gave zero contribution -.-' Honestly, he should thank me. I don't know what on earth does all these people want to do in college if they can't do simple work and work in groups. LOL. Just saying. :P

Friends part. I'm still myself. I'm very low profile *cheh wah*. Not many friends but I have some that I can go to during the times I need help/overly blur. Yeah, of course, I can't find people to kacau: like Tse Ling or whack: like Sarah, or argue: with Melissa, insult: like Belinda. LOL. I miss them O:

Well, finals is over. Gonna enjoy the holidays. Not really anticipating the new semester for now. Lol. I'm not having any post-exam anxiety either, not like usual. I think I did well and did my best, so I'm hoping for a HD for Maths and maybe Ds if possible for the other subjects.

Thoughts

For a long time now, if you have noticed, my blog hasn't really contained much words as compared to my first two years in blogging. When I started blogging, this space has always been a place of rant, a place of pouring out feelings, at that moment at that time when I write.

And I find myself smiling and laughing whenever I read back the old posts. It may be silly, maybe even stupid at the point of time when I wrote it, but what I wrote was from my heart and mind.. without much filter of course. I stopped writing too much personal stuffs on my blog because I find myself being wreckless in the things I wrote. I only wrote about things that I felt personally, and because I am impulsive and emotional at that very moment and time of sadness or anger, I tend to write things that may hurt others because of my choice of words. And I also realize the danger of expressing too much on a space that is open for all. And that's the point I have took off the whole idea of writing personal thoughts.

But, as much as I have been filtering my thoughts and words in blogging in the past 1 year or so, I truly missed the very reason I have started blogging. To just write for myself, and not for anyone else. I have always love penning down thoughts, positive or negative. And likewise, typing out thoughts have of course been much easier than "writing" writing.

And so, I will be back pretty soon :)

I miss having the spirit of a true blogger.

Updates #13 - HELP Matriculation Centre (HMC) Leadership Camp 2011

I'm gonna talk about the worst camp of my life, I repeat the WORST. Yes, I'm so jealous, so not satisfied that I went to Genting and not the other camps. March intake students were split into 3 different camp groups - Bukit Tinggi, Gopeng and Genting. And Genting was the most pathetic one. Yes, we had a kind of proper place to stay, maybe a fresher air, but in all other aspects, it sucks.

We had almost a total of 11 hours of talks, like a seminar and only less than 4 hours of outdoor activities. And our outdoor activities was just mainly finding clues around. THAT's ALL. While the other camps did 11 hours of outdoor activities, ranging from group games, water rafting and more! And they only have a maximum of 2 hour session for talks. Totally sucks. Was on the brink of being bored to death seriously. And then, about 2/3 of people also got food poisoning! I tell you it was horrible.

The toilets and sinks were clogged. It was dusty everywhere. So typical Malaysian place. OMG. Why such a horrible management?

And I hate one of the speakers for the stupid talk. All the was talking was about money money and money. Success = money. Some brainwash session. Hello? Money is not everything. I decided to google him up when I was back from camp. Guess what? He's from money tree corp. NO WONDER. Whatever.

I hated the session because of his emphasis on certain things that I totally do not agree with. I hate it when people always associate success with money. You may be poor, have nothing in material form, but you are still successful if you manage to build a home of comfort for your family. Like it or not, not everyone can be rich! No matter what all these motivation speakers tell you: how much you can do if you are determined, some people are just not meant to be rich. So just freaking accept the fact..

Blablabla. Actually there's more, but I don't want to say anymore. Forget it. After all it's like a month past already I think. :P Don't simpan dendam. BUT I STILL FEEL UNFAIR. Because everyone says HMC Leadership Camp is like very fun. All I got was boredom. Argh.

Magical Musical at Sunway Amphitheatre

I got the chance to watch Magical Musical with my family and friends on last Monday much thanks to allMalaysia.info for all the free tickets that I won from them :DD Earlier before this, I actually got a pair of tickets to watch the musical but I didn't make it for the musical because I had to go for (the crappy) college leadership camp on the screening date, so instead gave the tikets to my sister. The tickets was non-transferable but, I figured a way. Heh.

The verdict was, my sister said it was very very nice and thanked me for the tickets. (My sister thanking me? WOW. XD) So, I'm rather convinced by my sister's sikap cerewet, and concluded that the musical should be nice and I HAD TO win some tickets. Eventually, I won 4 pairs xD! So yeah, awesomeness, thank God for favour (:

Traffic to Sunway was rather good actually, no very massive traffic jam in particular. This time, the Sunway entrance was rather quiet. No booth set ups or what not. Just saw a gang of people lepaking outside there.

The route to the amphitheatre was rather a long journey, but I got a nice overview of the whole Sunway Lagoon area! Betcha didn't have that overview before? :P

We reached kinda on time, and the show started off. There wasn't much people around maybe less than hundred of us I assume? Anyway, our seats was supposed to be the one worth RM200 but instead all of us moved nearer and got the VIP seats. Hehehe. Just sharing some pictures for some stories later. Hehe.

For this song, I forgot what, it's about finding a hero if I didn't mistaken. Haha, the backup dancers were really funny. Those guys were like doing moves to show off their abs and body. Totally made me LOL. xD

Judging by the outfit, you'll probably could have guessed that they sang to Jai-Ho for this performance. Hehe, it was one of the most memorable and energetic performance of the night for me. :D They had some guys around them drinking kerosene (?), and blowing fire out of their throat xD. I don't know how to say it, well you get me don't you?

So, the musical was good actually but something happened that night O: One of the main singers injured her head from the first or second song, and was bleeding so she was not performing anymore for the night. The musical went out, but without any storyline (originally, there was a storyline like a romantic story between 3 couples).

Yea, so we missed the story :( And because she was also solo-ing some songs, they cut her part. So yeah, it's kinda sad though we sort of didn't really get to watch the actual thing which is the drama plus the singings and dances. The show just went on with singings and singings no drama. Aww, really wished I could catch the drama. Anyway, still enjoyed it. Hope the others who went and watch also enjoyed themselves to the fullest (:

McDonald's Limited Edition Glass Coca Cola Cans

If you haven't known yet, I actually am an avid collector of coca cola cans. So far with almost more than 25 cans with different designs from a few parts of the world. Definitely, this glass coca cola cans is a must have!

I got it not too long ago after almost one month of waiting to collect it from McDonald's. Got it from the McDonald's Malaysia facebook page for free! Much thanks to Dawa (link) for helping me to get it. :D

It's a great effort from McDonald's to reward and utilize facebook, however bad management of this program I must say. Reason why is because winners were given a limited period of time to collect their coke cans, but some (if not a lot of outlets), ran out of the cans and they have to make several trips to the specific pick-up point that they have chosen. McDonald's should have just allocated the coke cans and it should be put aside as booking for the winners, so that regardless of whatever situation, winners still can come and collect it within the time allocated.

For my case, I made my first trip to McDonald's Taman Connaught, which was my pick-up point. Little did I know that it was closed down for renovation, and there was no notification. So it was a waste-time, useless trip. Made several complaints to McDonald's because the outlet was closed for a week, which means the pick-up allocation period is over when it re-opens.

After like a few days, only they entertained me, and sent a notification to collect it within a new period of time. I went again, they told me no stock! Second time I went, another meaningless trip. The manager told me to collect it next week. So, I am determined to be vigilant, finally got it from them after I saw a few people posting that they collected already. I immediately called up the store and confirmed if they have stock and quickly rush there (incase anything happens again you know :3) So yea, no one informed anything, this was a few days later from my second visit, not a week. So, just wondering, if I come by a little later by a few days, I bet they would say they got no stock and that the period of collection was over.

Anyhow, just saying. :P I'm happy. Heh.

That's why most of us enjoy nature views because there's so much beauty in colours. I'm totally crazy about colours. But, living in an urban area means I don't really have much nature view here. I'm stuck inside my house most of the time when I'm not out.

And, I'm so tired of staring at my boring purple wall in my room now. After almost 6 years I'm stuck with this pathetic purple purposeless (hey, a tongue twister!) wall, I really want to have a make over for my room.

For the past two days, I feel like I'm in an oven being toasted into a delicious roast pork. I wonder how I really taste like. In days like these, I wish I was freezing my butt off in Korea. Hey! It's been almost 5 months already T_T Man, how I miss the food thereeee..

Finally, the quizzes are over hoorahh! Actually, I'm quite happy with what I got, in comparison with the average marks, I think I got slightly above average. That's something to be happy about. But on the other hand, I realized that the challenge is always being better than myself. At the end of the day, it's me that I'm trying to be better than, cause eventually there's always someone else who is better than me. Okay, I know it's kinda confusing with all these me, you, she, he thing. Who says pronouns was easy again?

But there's more to come. Mid terms alright, I feel like I'm gearing up yeah, getting the momentum to really ace it all. Cheh wah, bajet statement. I really hope I can get a few HDs if it's possible. Looking at it, I have the chance if I work really really hard for the next say, 7 weeks?

Well, here's something to thank God for the past 2 months in college. Thank God for bringing friends in college. Yeah, shuddap, I know I'm like some crappy fella with no friends, a loner, sometimes but hey, I managed to make a couple of friends. Not too bad? O_O I actually want to know what people think about me before they know me, it'll be something interesting to know ain't it?

Moving on, next, thank God for helping me in my assignment. And also thank God for my mum. My first group assignment in college has been giving me hard time for the past one week. The dateline is short, I mean for first timer, it's short because we don't have time to be blur, but start doing your work. I HATE last minute works actually, especially things that involve MARKS.

Yes, I want to say this, probably some of you already know about it. I was ranting and being very very upset with my group members. And I can't choose my group members in the first place T.T The reason why I'm so upset? I think they're not taking this seriously and they're not contributing. Some gave their work without putting any effort, some did not put any initiative, some was being themselves working last minute. Because there was no leader, and I was being paranoid being no work was being done, I voluntarily start allocating who does what and giving out datelines. Sadly, no one comply to them.

Yes, I am very upset because things are not going on as I want it to be. And yes, I am taking things personal cause it's a group work, which involves me XD! Anyway, the outcome was that, whoever does their part, I really do appreciate. And to those who never, please stay away from me. LOL. The assignment was done on night before the dateline. I took matters into my own hands, I did some cover ups for certain people in the group. And I really couldn't have finished without the help of my sister, my mum (who fetched me everywhere to find sources) and also credit to one of my group member who made me feel better I wasn't doing the assignment ALONE. Anyway, I just pray for favour from the lecturer when he marks it alright.

If you've been to camps you'll most probably played this game before "Angel and Mortal". It goes like you'll pick a name - that person will be your mortal. It's a cycle where everyone pick a name so they have a mortal. And eventually, they'll have an angel too. This game a quite a long term game, so whatchu actually do is - make your mortal happy. I put it in that way, easier to understand what. :P

What people usually do is send a messenger, on behalf of you and do something for your mortal. Example, ask a messenger to bring food for your mortal. Or write notes. Or buy a drink. Or sing a song. Or say something nice. Well, it could be anything. Be creative and think outta the box yo!

It wasn't too long ago, earlier this month in fact, I went to my church family camp. Well, I have a mortal, but no one picked my name. :( Thus, no angel. It will be niceeee if I did have an angel though. Anyway, it was fun being an angel to my mortal cause she's very funny and cute. As in whenever I asked my messenger to pass things to her, she'll be like "Oh my gosh". Hehehehe.

One of the things I did was, I gave her Hacks sweets, asked my sister to pass to her. Then, I wrote a little note saying "Fun fact : Did you know Hacks stands for 'hanya aku cinta kau sahaja'?" I looked from behind and saw her laughing. Muahahaha. And everytime I asked a messenger to help her to take food for her, instead of her queuing up herself, she also got very happy. Well, I guess it's the simple things in life that makes us really happy sometimes.

Anyway, two weeks later, which is last Sunday, my mortal came up to me and hand me an 'angel' keychain (the picture above) and a bookmark, as a sign of appreciation for being her angel in the camp. That was totally unexpected and totally made me feel like over the moon. Yahoo. I guess it's nice being nice and kind to other people and when we least expected something in return, and we get it, it'll make us appreciate it even more. :)

Yo people! See the picture above? It's Paper Jamz! A Paper Jamz guitar to be precise. My mum actually asked her colleague to buy it from elsewhere, you can't get Paper Jamz in Malaysia. =.=''

What is Paper Jamz actually? It's actually a TOY. Yes, it's a toy, made of cardboard. And it's like RM100 after being converted. But you can get it for like 20-30USD. -_-; so unfair. Haih. Anyway.. Paper Jamz is a toy that "works" like a guitar. Like a real guitar, but still NOT a guitar. It's flat alright, no strings. But when you slide your finger across the guitar, magically it sounds as if you're playing a real guitar. Viola. Hahaha.

Well, I know musicians criticize of buying this Paper Jamz. Why buy a toy when you can have a real one? Well, it's fun and no brainer actually. Hehe, you can play your normal songs on Paper Jamz except that the chords placement are already pre-set. So, you gotta memorise the position and there you go. There's also several modes on Paper Jamz and you can just strum along..

What's cool about Paper Jamz is that, it's very very light and super flat. LOL really flat weih. I'm not used to it. And guess what? You can also buy an amplifier from Paper Jamz to amplify the guitar lah duh. LOL seriously, got such thing! Cool? Oh, can buy the guitar strap also. I think about 5USD? Dirt cheap ;( But why can't get it in Malaysia. WHY?

Paper Jamz also have drums around. Drums, guitars, and amplifiers all in CARDBOARD? Man, technology is amazing I tell you. :P

Best Music Youtube Channel - Kurt Schneider

Well, it's no doubt that I'm gonna say that Kurt Schneider's channel (www.youtube.com/kurthugoschneider) is the best music channel in youtube. I've been watching all of Kurt's videos for almost a year or more now ever since I discovered his video featuring Sam Tsui, the Michael Jackson Medley (link) genius production I would say with genius arrangements by Kurt himself.

Such a shame though, because the video only has 25.9 million views so far, after more than a year being uploaded. I believe many more people should start viewing this rather than some useless crap and contribute to the view count. So, go take a look at the video and listen today :D
The reason I say Kurt's channel is the best is because I'm a huge fan of Sam Tsui. BUT that doesn't mean he's any greater than Kurt either. I think both Kurt and Sam makes them a great duo together. Kurt is very good at song arrangements and I love Sam's attitude when he is singing.
Take for example, the Love The Way You Lie mashup (link). You can see the many faces of Sam when he's singing which is really entertaining really. And that he really has THE attitude don't he? I mean to me, he just has the charms.

Well, another awesome video that was produced by Kurt featuring Sam and also another youtube sensation, Christian Grimmie - Just a Dream - has been receiving a lot of positive feedbacks and the views has been accelerating, currently at 24.1 million views now.
Kurt's channel previously has about 500 thousand subscribers at the end of last year but now the number of subscribers have increased till 900 thousand making Kurt's channel one of the top in the musician category. And, I believe the Just A Dream video (link) has lured even more people to becoming Kurt & Sam's followers in their videos.

Although Kurt works with Sam Tsui most of the time, he also have worked with other youtube users like Christina Grimmie, Alex Goot, Ahmir, Jake, J Rice and Nick Pitera. You would be familiar with these names if you're like me, always looking for good covers and originals across the internet.
If you haven't know it yet, Kurt is also producing a movie, when it will be released I'm not sure but the fans are pretty much anticipating it. Previously, Kurt has released a few episodes of College Musical but now they're making a movie.

One more thing about Kurt's channel is that you can never find Kurt singing :( I'd really want to watch a video of him singing. It'll be rather interesting. However, you can always see him playing instruments - guitar or piano or even the "drum pad". He's a really talented dude.
So, that's the overall review I can think of for the Kurt's channel. Definitely the best music youtube channel I repeat! Thing is, Kurt haven't been uploading much video this year :( No idea why. Missing in action? But let's hope he's gonna make a come back soon!

Heyya mateys! My last post on the pirates one was like more than a week ago. Sorry for the lack of updates. It's almost the end of the first week in May already! Time honestly just pass on so quickly.

Camp was good, minor hiccups here and there but I had a great time. :) College is okay, homeworks and more things to do now. And with the quizzes to come within the next weeks, it's not the time to mess around.

Crepe Cakes in KL? Nadeje in Malacca

Crepe cakes are getting becoming people's first choice for cakes nowadays. The first time I ate a crepe cake was back in December during YPF retreat where Michelle brought us to try out Nadeje because it was famous in Malacca. They sold a variety of crepe cakes and I manage to try out three flavours. Chocolate, original and green tea.

I must say, I am really fascinated with the details of crepe cakes, I like to peel one layer by one layer and eat them slowly. Hehe. Crepe cakes are best eaten immediately when served, otherwise the cream melts kinda quickly. The crepe cakes are very very nice. It's not too sweat and the texture is something different. The flavour appeals very much and the cream is great. I like them, particularly the original one. Everyone should try this :D

Lotteria or known as "McDonalds" in Malaysia

Lotteria! The last time I went to Korea (that's like four months ago, so fast!), we managed to try out Lotteria, twice :P The first time I went there, I don't remember seeing Lotteria at all. Maybe it's just that I don't remember. What is Lotteria? Apparently, Lotteria is a fast-food chain famous in countries like Korea and Taiwan. Personally, I like Lotteria a lot, as a fast food chain because of their menu. Maybe it's just that I got bored of McDonald's. Geez.

Well, thank God they have menu in English although the some of the menu end up being "Hanwoo Bulgogi" or "Red & White", which we have no idea what's that. Other than that, the menu's pretty clear about what they sell. Like McDonalds, they also sell in a'la carte or in sets.

Because I forgot what exactly we ordered, I'll just roughly describe what was it. Lotteria has shrimp burgers which happen to be good, since we don't really have any shrimp burgers around. Their "McChicken" was awesome, a very very very tender meat. Bulgogi, by the guess of it should be a beef burger. It was awesome too. All the burgers have very tender texture making it more awesome than ever coz you can't find them in Malaysia.

Sigh. I miss Lotteria. :(
